Title
Maintenance and Facilities Staff (MFS)

Reporting Structure
The MFS reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The MFS will work in cooperation with all staff and faculty on campus to provide a superior level of service to NCC Students a Employees.

Location
The MFS will work from the main campus of Niagara Christian Community of Schools (NCC) located at 2619 Niagara Parkway, Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, L2A 5M4.

Job Status
The MFS is a full time position.

Job Summary
The MFS will work along with the Custodial Staff to provide ongoing maintenance a cleaning to the facilities, equipment and property of NCC. To achieve this objective, the MFS will also work closely with all NCC Staff/Faculty, a Administration to ensure the best possible experience to our students, parents and constituents. Projecting a positive attitude at all times is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities
● Maintain buildings and related systems in reasonable condition and engage in preventative maintenance.
● Maintain grounds in all seasons so that they provide both serviceability and a pleasing atmosphere to anyone using or viewing the campus.
● Maintain all equipment/vehicles in working order, and engage in preventative maintenance.
● Assisting with the safe setup and take down of required facilities and equipment for special events as well as ongoing programs.
● Assisting with the lagoon and related pumping systems and water systems to the standards of the pertinent government agencies. Hold an Operator In Training Certification to achieve this responsibility.

Customer Service
● Communicate with students, faculty, staff, visitors and other personnel in courteous manner.

Monitoring / Reporting
● Handle chemicals according to the workplace hazard information
system (WHMIS).
● Report any mechanical failures or hazardous conditions to DOS.
● Report all accidents and incidents to DOS.

Project Management
As needed, identify and justify new tools, equipment and services that may be needed.

Budget / Record Keeping
● Operate within approved budget
● Track and maintain maintenance requests (Green Slips/ Safety Culture App)

Job Requirements Skills and Qualifications
● 2-3 years of related work experience.
● Must hold a valid driver’s license.
● Must be able to multitask, be flexible and work well with peopl
● Must be willing to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, be exposed to heights and confined space
● Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative, be proactive and prioritize work.
● Must abide by the NCC “Statement of Life and Conduct” and conform to the NCC “What We Believe” document.

Terms of Employment
Sample Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 - 3:30, 30 minutes for lunch. Occasional weekend, holiday and overtime work will be required. Must be able to be on-call, work flexible hours/days which may include weekends and holidays. All overtime will require pre-written approval from the COO.

● Hourly Rate: $21/hr
● Vacation: 3 weeks
Note: This position may not follow the statutory holiday calendar.
